"Les Entretiens de la Construction" Conference 2026
26 June 2026 (France, Villeneuve Loubet)
Patricia BARRIN, Head of the Property & Construction Department of 99 AVOCATS ASSOCIÉS attended the 2026 edition of the Entretiens de la Construction Conference, organised with the support of the Nice Bar Association, the Grasse Bar Association, Court Experts, as well as several institutional stakeholders committed to modernising construction justice in France.
This edition was themed: “Towards a revolution in dispute resolution?”
Through recent legislative and case law developments, the discussions highlighted the profound changes currently affecting construction litigation, including the growing importance of alternative dispute resolution methods, the redefinition of the expert’s role, and the increasing emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) within the judicial sphere:
- The evolution of alternative dispute resolution methods: an overview of the growing importance of mediation and conciliation processes both before and during judicial expert proceedings.
- The impact of artificial intelligence: an analysis of the risks and opportunities associated with AI in the handling of construction-related disputes.
- Parties’ expectations and the strategic role of the expert: best practices to secure, structure, and enhance expert work in a rapidly evolving sector. While this conference was held within a French context, the topics discussed are also of relevance to Monaco-based construction law practitioners, in light of contemporary developments in dispute resolution, expert evidence, and the growing role of artificial intelligence.
