Participation in the 2026 International Conference of the International Society of Family Law (ISFL)
9-12 September 2026 (Pîrî Reis University, Istanbul, Turkey)
Sarah FILIPPI, Partner, Nathalie BLANGERO BUISSON, Head of the Family Law Department, and Cécile MÉMETEAU FASSI, Senior Associate, are delighted to participate in the 19th International Conference of the International Society of Family Law (ISFL) on the theme of "Family Law and Vulnerability".They are members of the ISFL.
The ISFL Conference is a major academic event bringing together an international and interdisciplinary community of family law researchers and practitioners. In 2026, it marks the centenary of the adoption of the Turkish Civil Code, a key milestone in the development of family law in Turkey and the legal recognition of women’s rights in the country.
Through its international, comparative and interdisciplinary approach, this conference offers family law practitioners a unique forum for exchange and reflection on the evolution of standards and practices, with a particular focus in 2026 on the protection of vulnerable persons and effective access to justice.
Vulnerability lies at the heart of family law practice, whether it manifests itself through socio-economic inequalities, situations of domestic violence, child protection or mental health issues.
The aim of the ISFL 2026 Conference is to highlight the relationships of dependency that may exist between spouses or partners, between parents and children, and within the extended family, as well as the way in which family law addresses and regulates these situations of vulnerability.
