New fees for administrative formalities relating to patents and trademarks from 1 April 2026 (Sovereign Ordinance No. 11.765 of 13 February 2026)

Sovereign Order No. 11.765 of 13 February 2026 amending Sovereign Order No. 6.722 of 26 December 2017 (Articles 6 and 12) (JDM No. 8787 of 20 February 2026) revises the amounts of fees applicable for the completion of administrative formalities from 1 April 2026 onwards, concerning patents and trademarks.

Patent fees (as of 1 April 2026)

1) Filing a patent application: €30

2) Filing an application for an additional certificate: €50

3) Converting an application for an additional certificate into a patent application: €15

4) Annual fee:

• First year: €1
• Second year: €30
• Third year: €55
• Fourth year: €65 (€60 until 31 March 2026)
• Fifth year: €105 (€100 until 31 March 2026)
• The sixth €140 (€135 until 31 March 2026)
• The seventh €160 (€150 until 31 March 2026)
• The eighth €170 (€160 until 31 March 2026)
• The ninth €185 (€175 until 31 March 2026)
• The tenth €205 (€195 until 31 March 2026)
• The eleventh €250 (€240 until 31 March 2026)
• The twelfth €300 (€285 until 31 March 2026)
• The thirteenth €335 (€320 until 31 March 2026)
• The fourteenth €385 (€365 until 31 March 2026)
• The fifteenth €410 (€390 until 31 March 2026)
• The sixteenth €425 (€405 until 31 March 2026)
• The seventeenth €435 (€415 until 31 March 2026)
• The eighteenth €440 (€420 until 31 March 2026)

Trademarks fees (as of 1 April 2026)

1) Filing of a trademark registration application: €130 (€120 until 31 March 2026)

2) Renewal of registration: €190 (€180 until 31 March 2026)

3) Surcharge per class of goods or services, beyond three: €40 (€35 until 31 March 2026)

4) Late renewal surcharge: 50% of the corresponding fee due

5) Special register

• Application for registration, per title: €35
• Statement of registrations, per title: €20

6) Reproduction of any document, per page: €2
